Win a Modern Vinyl slipmat on RSD

2012 Record Store Day / Contests / April 22, 2012

All throughout Record Store Day, we’ll be giving away some Modern Vinyl slipmats. Fifteen will be given away in all, but to win, you’ll have to keep your eye on this page throughout the day. At random times, we’ll be posting trivia questions, which relate to records. Whoever answers those questions first in the comments, wins a slipmat. It’s that simple! You can only win one slipmat.

The first question will come shortly after midnight, with the remaining chances to win coming at random times throughout the day. All the questions will appear in this article.

Good luck!

We wanted to go a little bit different than our official logo. I hope you guys enjoy the look!

Time to start the giveaways! Just a few things first. If your comment doesn’t show up immediately, don’t worry. Some have to go through approval but it won’t affect your contest standing. Second, if you’re an international winner, I’m taking donations toward shipping, but no pressure! Good luck to everyone, first correct answer wins!

Question 1: What three colors are they releasing Taking Back Sunday’s “We Play Songs” on this Record Store Day?

Question 2: Name that track: What is track 5 on Side E of the 3xLP version of Jimmy Eat World’s “Bleed American?”

Question 3: What colors are the new pressing of The Starting Line’s “Direction” coming in?

Question 4: What guest vocalist is featured on Straylight Run’s “It’s For The Best?”

Question 5: What picture is etched into the D-side of the 180-gram black version of Fun.’s “Aim and Ignite?”

Question 6: What year was the icon known as Mr. Peanut born?

Question 7: What song does Jack Black’s character in “High Fidelity” switch the stereo to after freaking out over the “new Belle and Sebastian?”

Question 8: How many vinyl records come with the US pressing of Kanye West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy?”

Question 9: Name that track: What is track three on Side D of Copeland’s “You Are My Sunshine?”

Question 10: In “Shaun Of The Dead,” which record does Sean tell Ed to throw first as they’re going through his collection?

Question 11: What record label is putting out the recent repress of Sum 41’s “All Killer No Filler?”

Question 12: What variations is Invada Records pressing the soundtrack to “Drive” on?

Question 13: In the first pressing of “The Mark, Tom and Travis Show,” through Hot Topic, how many copies were pressed?

Question 14: How many copies were pressed of the RSD release from Gorillaz, entitled “Do Ya Thing?”

Question 15: What band was the subject of our first ever article here at Modern Vinyl?

Thanks to everyone who participated in the contest and to everyone who used us for Record Store Day coverage. Hopefully we can have an ever better RSD next year!
