Taking a blood oath for vinyl records

News / May 4, 2012

Talk about strange.

Do you remember when The Flaming Lips announced that a limited run of their 2012 Record Store Day release, entitled “Heady Fwends,” would include samples of the collaborating artist’s blood within the vinyl? Well, now comes the news that 10 copies of the blood vinyl will be available for purchase in the near future, priced at $2,500 each.

The blood samples will apparently be from Nick Cave, Erykah Badu, Ke$ha, Chris Martin and more. You can see all kinds of interesting pictures and videos from the process (including some crazy artwork) over at Pitchfork.

I hope they don’t mind paying the shipping fees to Transylvania.
