Here are the top stories from Modern Vinyl for the past week.

1. The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Mellon Collie” being reissued (read)
“Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness,” the 1995 landmark album from The Smashing Pumpkins, will be remastered and reissued on vinyl this winter. Pre-orders are now ongoing.

2. Two Midtown albums coming to vinyl (read)
“Save The World, Lose The Girl” and “Living Well is The Best Revenge” will be pressed to vinyl and distributed through Hot Topic this fall.

3. Announcements begin to pile up for Black Friday (read)
Releases from Cee Lo Green, Skrillex, My Chemical Romance and The Lumineers, among others, have been announced for Black Friday 2012.

4. Third Eye Blind’s ST getting reissued? (read)
Third Eye Blind posted an image of their self-titled album on Facebook, with the caption reading, “Coming Soon.” The image appears to be 12″ vinyl artwork.

5. The Week In Reviews
This week, we posted reviews for the new split 7″ from Dormlife and Dr. Manhattan, Deerhoof’s “Breakup Song,” The Starting Line’s “Direction” and The American Scene’s “Safe For Now.”

6. BHR releasing Abel’s “Make It Right” on vinyl (read)
Broken Heart Records announced its newest project this past week, as they’ll be pressing Abel’s “Make It Right.”

7. Transit’s “Stay Home” up for pre-order (read)
You can now pre-order Run For Cover’s pressing of Transit’s 2010 album.

8. “Defining. Refining” pressed by Secret Audio (read)
Secret Audio Club has announced its first ever pressing to be a reissue of Half Hearted Hero’s “Defining. Refining.”

9. “Making Moves” now available in box-set (read)
You can now pick up each of the entries in the “Making Moves” 7″ series in a box-set. The entries from The Skies Revolt and Motion City Soundtrack are coming out later this year.

10. The Who to release career spanning box-set (read)
You can now pre-order an 11-album box-set from The Who, in which each full length is pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
