Newest from The Meets up for pre-order

Preorders / August 27, 2013

The Meets, which is a project led by Brandon Locher (co-founder of My Idea Of Fun) and featuring over 20 musicians, has their new full length album up for pre-order. The album, titled It Happens Outside, is being pressed on black vinyl (limited to 300), while housed in a 2-panel jacket.

Composed of a rotating live performance and recording ensemble directed and produced by Brandon Locher, The Meets’ ensemble consists of nearly two dozen musicians playing and sampling acoustic and electronic instruments over an electronically created sound collage. According to Locher, ‘80% of the sounds on the album are organic, taken from field-recordings that I made – a drum circle that happened in the streets, recording friends playing orchestral instruments, etc, to build this created ensemble with everyone being credited.’

The album will be released on October 1st. You can stream “Even When The Time Comes,” below, which is a track from the album (courtesy of Ad Hoc).
