Billboard Recap: November 2nd

News / October 24, 2013

Lightning Bolt, the new full length effort from Pearl Jam, was the top selling vinyl record of the past week. The 180-gram single LP, packaged in a gatefold jacket, is priced at around $30 at most retailers, but that didn’t stop fans from picking up the record in droves. Overall, the album would place 1st on the Billboard 200, as well, selling 166K copies in all formats.

The new album from The Avett Brothers, titled Magpie & The Dandelion, would place second on the vinyl chart, while placing 5th in the Billboard 200. In terms of that overall Billbaord 200, this is the band’s second best debut, with The Carpenter coming in fourth.

And finally, in third place is Let’s Be Still, the new release from The Head And The Heart. The Sub Pop release also placed 10th in the Billboard 200. That was by far the outfit’s best overall debut, as their self-titled work came in at 109th.
