Release Day: September 2nd

The first couple Shop Radio Cast reissues from Jimmy Eat World — Static Prevails and Clarity — are our highlights this week as the conversation will turn from how expensive SRC’s releases are to just how well done they are. Until the next SRC release that is. I also expect that many have put in their pre-orders for the R.E.M. Unplugged sets, which went fast on Record Store Day in the 4xLP variation.

New releases are led by Code Orange, a group that’s continued to gain momentum in the hardcore/Deathwish scene and I’d be surprised if that positivity stopped anytime soon. Have heard nothing but good things about I Am King. On the other end of the rock spectrum is Grey Gordon, who this time around has went for the fuller rock sound, ditching the acoustic vibe of previous releases.

To all the students, hope you’ve enjoyed your first weeks, and to everyone, enjoy Labor Day.
