Whereas their moniker brands them as a trio wading in their own distorted indifference, Alright channels subdued pop-rock stomps with more directness than anticipated. Fuzz-drenched bass oozes out purpose as lead vocalist/guitarist Sarah Blumenthal drools out syrupy-slick vocals. The three-piece unit pulls no surprises, unless one might be cast astray by the outfit’s tight-knit, vibrantly accessible sound. Regardless of listener reception, this upstart band (featuring members of Late Bloomer and It Looks Sad.) will not be complacent in their soundscapes either way.
Alright’s self-titled EP is available both digitally and on 7″ vinyl via a joint effort between Negative Fun Records and Self Aware Records. The wax version is pressed on random colors and is limited to 300 units. You can pre-order the release via Negative Fun or Self Aware; each label includes a digital download with purchase.
