Devo’s ‘EZ Listening Muzak’ getting pressed

News / February 8, 2016

Devo, along with Futurismo, are releasing the band’s EZ Listening Muzak sessions on vinyl. The music would originally be released on cassette through the band’s fan club in 1981, while the second tape was released in 1984. Basically, the music is elevator-style versions of their tracks.

A number of box-sets will be available along with a “Smoking Gown,” while the pressing will be on 2×140-gram colored vinyl (either Antique Walnut or Lava Lamp).

Stick here for when pre-orders eventually launch. The sets will be released on March 4th.

Whether you’re entertaining guests with a bout of cheese and wine by the fire or throwing the cocktail party of the century, these mutated muzak lounge versions of DEVO classics such as ‘Whip It’, ‘Jocko Homo’ and ‘It’s A Beautiful World’ will be the perfect hors d’oeuvres for an evening of de-evolved fun.
