‘Gremlins’ vinyl release unveiled by Mondo, artwork revealed by sun, water

News / November 16, 2016

God damn, Mondo is just knocking it out of the park with packaging lately. Hot on the heels of their destructive Fight Club packaging comes Gremlins, a sleeve that reveals additional artwork if exposed to daylight and water. Aka, a replication of the triggers for the actual creatures in the film. As Entertainment Weekly states:

The set is just like the monsters: The artwork, by Phantom City Creative, features an ultraviolet-sensitive gatefold jacket that reveals hidden messages when exposed to daylight; the disc sleeves are water sensitive; additional artwork is revealed when exposed to a damp cloth. So at a certain time of day, either cute Gizmo or lethal Gizmo will appear by himself or accompanied by tiny, furry allies.

This will be a 2xLP set featuring the music of the great Jerry Goldsmith. It goes on sale Nov. 30th, at noon CST.
