Any artist brought into the Father/Daughter family is worth your attention (this was/is the home of PWR BTTM, Lisa Prank, Diet Cig and Happy Diving, after all), but Vagabon seems….special. The project of Laetitia Tamko, she contributes synths, keyboard, guitar, drum and vocals to a poppy, garage rock end product, one elevated by a verse focus on those excellent vocals (seen below). It’s minimal, yet energetic.
Vagabon is releasing their new full length, Infinite Worlds, on Feb. 20. The pressing will be on coke bottle green with metallic gold vinyl (limited to 250) and on metallic silver (limited to 500).
Listening to “The Embers” for the first time reminded me of my first Julien Baker experience. It’s clear you’ve stumbled upon a unique voice, you just hope it catches on.
