‘Troll 2’ soundtrack coming to vinyl, up for pre-order today

News / Preorders / January 12, 2017

Getting a chance to check out the packaging for this back at MondoCon 2016, I was already excited for the vinyl release of the Troll 2 soundtrack. But looking at the specs of Lunaris Records’ official announcement, they took great care in transporting the music accompanying the “Best Worst Movie.” That music, by Carlo Maria Cordio and mastered for vinyl by James Plotkin, is being pressed on a few different variants, detailed below:

  • Transparent Neon Green
  • Woodland Green (label mailorder exclusive)
  • ┬áHand-Made Nebula Vinyl (each one is different)
  • Test pressing

For packaging, you’ll get a die-cut jacket, with Joshua trying to break through that wall of green slime, along with additional artwork by Devon Whitehead. The nebula edition includes an insert card signed by Cordio and the test pressing package includes a “Glow in the dark screen printed fold over sleeve.” You actually get the rejected test pressing and the final version in that package.

This goes on sale today, at 1 p.m. EST. It will be officially released on Jan. 27. If you haven’t seen Troll 2 and its accompanying documentary, you’re doing yourself a great disservice. Invite some friends over, eat before watching (seriously every time I watch this movie, I can’t look at food afterwards), and prepare to laugh. And I was always surprised as to how legit the music was, as compared to the ridiculous movie itself.
