Exclusive Video: Low Hums — Too Early To Tell

Exclusive Spin / News / June 29, 2017

“Too Early To Tell,” the first single from Low Hums‘ forthcoming EP, NightMagicWine, is destined to bring back memories of the VHS era, with its “homemade on a Handycam” feel and patriotic undertones. That EP, set to be released on August 25th, through Union Zero, will be available on purple wax, as a deluxe gatefold LP (it’s up for pre-order now).

Low Hums has been around since 2009, playing an assortment of spots, from college parties filled with sweaty attendees, to bakeries turned into all-ages venues.

We’re ecstatic to premiere the music video for “Too Early To Tell,” with Jonas Haskins, the band’s singer, having this to say:

“The song was written in about 15 minutes over coffee in my kitchen around 7:30am and demo’d into my phone. Mike then came up with the drum beat in the studio and I tracked bass to it… also in the studio. We listened on playback, and we were recording with Jack Endino – he gets up and starts walking around kinda playing air guitar to it, and we all started nodding our heads. Jack then said, ‘this is so Lou Reed,’ in the best way.”
