Car Seat Headrest’s ‘Twin Fantasy’ gets reworked, reissued

News / Preorders / December 27, 2017

Update 1/9/17: This has been officially announced by the label, so here’s a few more details. The reworked version will be a 2xLP set, inside a gatefold jacket. And the original version is being released on vinyl as part of Record Store Day 2018.

Twin Fantasy, originally released in 2011 by Car Seat Headrest, is getting reworked and reissued in early 2018. According to SRC Vinyl’s listing….

“It was never a finished work,” Will says, “and it wasn’t until last year that I figured out how to finish it.” He has, now, the benefit of a bigger budget, a full band in fine form, and endless time to tinker. According to him, it took eight months of mixing just to get the drums right. But this is no shallow second take, sanitized in studio and scrubbed of feeling. This is the album he always wanted to make. It sounds the way he always wanted it to sound. It’s been hard, stepping into the shoes of his teenage self, walking back to painful places.

The reissue is coming out, through Matador, on Feb. 16.
