Episode 223 of Modern Vinyl centers around Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Tug of War,” which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. We also talk our Chicago trip and play a little Music God.

Notes

— So. We’ve been hyping up this Chicago live show recently, as part of Podslam 2018. Show was great! Structured it as an MV Game Night: Emo Album or Teen Drama, Music God (complete with spinning wheel you hear in this episode), 20 Questions (answer was Paul Simon), and 2 Truths and a Lie.

Unfortunately, they lost the audio and video of all 10+ shows that attended. Obviously a huge bummer. We have a couple videos we’ll be posting on our socials in the next few days, but we did not do our own recording. We also did not know about this situation before recording this episode.

Don’t get me (and us) wrong. Still a positive experience, as we got to see each other and record a couple episodes in person, but I feel that’s some needed background. And! Podslam raised $4.5K for their chosen charity, Connor’s Cure.

— Here’s that Rivers Cuomo/Simple Plan song referenced.
